Falstaff Wine Guide Italy 2024

The slopes around Mount Etna are a special area, a unique ecosystem characterised by exceptional climatic variability. The "Island of Fire", as Dante once called this volcanic area, is home to some of the oldest cultivated vineyards in Italy, which are more than a hundred years old and still on their own roots, meaning they have not been attacked by phylloxera. These vines have found their ideal place on the black lava terraces on the slopes of the volcano.
