"Bowls & Salads" Street Food Restaurants in Lower Saxony
A dozen bowls and salad plates are prepared in the small restaurant - with beef or tuna, chicken or sheep's cheese. Of course, there are also vegetarian or vegan options, and the "Crazy Guy" salad with red cabbage, beetroot, avocado and roast potatoes tastes great.
It's not just the young crowd that BoBo attracts. Toasted bread is topped with a truffle and walnut or avocado and feta omelette. There are also smart bowls such as "Surf & Turf" with beef fillet and prawns or "Oh my Goat" with goat's cheese, rosemary potatoes and pumpkin.
There are three branches in Hanover. The one in Osterstraße is centrally located, but not as crowded as the one in the main railway station. The food concept is of course similar everywhere: there are wraps, sandwiches, curries and bowls, which you can also put together yourself.
There are bagels, sandwiches and smørrebrød, for example with matjes, curried egg salad, leek and gherkin or with avocado, kimchi, tomato, pesto rosso and cress. You should leave room for homemade cakes and tartlets. Also very popular: the colourful breakfast boxes to go.
Multiple choice at the healthy food counter: You choose a base, such as rice or zoodles, then a protein, such as salmon or tofu, and finally all kinds of herbs and vegetables, all topped with a sauce such as peanut, soya lime or mayo wasabi - and your personalised bowl is ready. And it's good anyway.
A nice pub in the old town. As they also sell "presents", it feels a little strange to sit among the shelves. But the food is freshly cooked: there are savoury grilled sandwiches, hearty quiche variations or weekly dishes such as stuffed vegan bell peppers.
The outdoor area of the restaurant is a great place to sit: at the gateway to the Listermeile, right next to St Mark's Church and Eilenriede, it's easy to lose track of time. There are lots of bowls and salads, but baked sweet potato or potato snow with all kinds of toppings are also popular.
