Barkarita, Anyone? Cocktails for Dogs at London’s After Bark Bar

You can now enjoy cocktails with your dogs at a new London bar. Both non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks are on the menu.

A new level of bar catering to dogs

The London community is known for spoiling pets with many dog-friendly bars, coffee shops and restaurants, especially those with open-air seating. A new bar just hit the headlines making hanging out in public with your dogs fun and healthy. Located in the Hackney Wick area, After Bark is offering a new experience for both customers and their fluffy friends. A menu with a mix of alcoholic cocktails for humans and non-alcoholic for canines is available at After Bark: Dogs are welcome every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening from 7pm to 11pm.

The inspiration behind the bar was to help dogs overcome separation anxiety or excessive distress when their owners started going back to the office. The bar is believed to comfort the four-legged friends and create more quality time with their owners.

A classic menu full of choices
A great selection of "puptails" with classic names like the "Bloodhound Mary," "Barkarita," and "Howlapaw Sling" are on the menu. If your dogs crave some snacks, they can even have Lick & Mix, the plant-based treats made to be consumed by both humans and animals. The bar owner also puts the health and wellbeing of dogs first.

"Puptails, they basically consist of raw beets or raw carrots, and they don't have any preservatives or anything," Jamie Swan, founder of After Bark, told Reuters. "So we have a Fish Island Iced Tea which is just for dogs. And that's got things like dandelions and burdock which is good for their guts and good for their overall health. So it's about wellbeing and health, as well as just a lot of fun."
