Big Mamma to open at new venue in West London

Italian restaurant collective launches Jacuzzi in Kensington on January 20.

Ave Mario, Gloria, and Circolo Popolare are some of the best-known restaurants in the capital, forming part of the French-owned Big Mamma group, which also has eateries in Paris and Madrid. Following the success of their Italian restaurants in London, which are famous for their extravagant, opulent furnishings and authentic Italian dishes, the group will open their fourth restaurant in the city: Jacuzzi launches on January 20 on High Street Kensington.

It will be far more than your typical trattoria: spread over four floors with 170 seats, it has been dubbed “Big Mamma´s palatial villa of Italian decadence” – the new restaurant a feast for both the eyes and the palette. Guests are welcomed by a sizeable lemon tree, stucco ceiling and alabaster walls. The restaurant also features murals which show Italian fashion greats, and the basement vault – a former bank – has been transformed into a “disco toilet”, complete with glitter ball. Everything reminds you of a grand Italian villa stuffed with antiques and a quirky, adventurous sense of taste. You can expect loads of Instagram posts to be made there.

The menu will include Culatello di Zibello PDO and pizzette topped with truffle, caviar, and bottarga. Guests with a sufficiently large stomach may also enjoy the chocolate fondue made with half a kilogram of Valrhona chocolate – no need to say it is shareable.

Address: 94 Kensington High Street, W8 4SH, London
