Busi Jacobsohn releases 2018 Blanc de Noirs

The East Sussex estate makes traditional method sparkling wines exclusively from estate-grown fruit.

Susanna Busi and and Douglas Jacobsohn planted their vineyard in East Sussex seven years ago. The Swedish couple always harboured a dream of owning a vineyard. They had settled in England several years earlier and thus the High Weald of East Sussex seemed the perfect spot.

Their venture started with planting a five-hectare vineyard on clay and greensand with sparkling wine varieties Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. In 2019, they released their first sparkling wine, the Classic Cuvée Brut 2017. Now, their portfolio spans the Classic Cuvée Brut from 2017 and 2018, the Rosé Extra Brut 2018 and 2022 sees the release of their Blanc de Noirs from the exceptionally warm 2018 vintage. The wine is made from 92% Pinot Noir, and 8% Pinot Meunier and spent 36 months on lees. The release of a Blanc de Blancs is also planned.
