Casa Real releases 30th vintage on La Place de Bordeaux

Chile's Santa Rita is releasing its Casa Real Reserva Especial 2019 vintage, the Cabernet Sauvignon's 30th anniversary, through La Place de Bordeaux.

Billed as one of Chile’s most important Cabernet Sauvignons, Casa Real Reserva Especial is one of the first five Chilean wines to join the Place de Bordeaux distribution network.

It is the second release on La Place for the flagship wine from Viña Santa Rita, 30 years after its first vintage in 1989.

“We want to continue strengthening Casa Real through a quest for greater precision and bolstering its quality. To do that, we select the best hectares with potential for Casa Real through a new innovative and sustainable planting system that we have been using in recent years,”  Santa Rita's chairman Baltazar Sánchez said.

The grapes for Casa Real Reserva Especial come from the Alto Jahuel area of Chile's Maipo Valley. Its first release on La Place, a distribution system which dates back centuries, was the 2018 vintage in 2021.
