The COMO group's first hotel in France offers an exclusive holiday experience complete with a super-spa.
The recent deal between the COMO Group and Red Bull boss Dietrich Mateschitz regarding the luxury resort on Mateschitz's private Laucala Island in the South Pacific made the headlines. Now COMO Hotels and Resorts' next project is in the pipeline – at the beginning of 2022, the group will open the COMO Montrachet, the first COMO property in France.
After the COMO Castello del Nero in Tuscany, COMO is now taking over another luxury hotel in Europe. The site of COMO Montrachet – the name comes from the Grand Cru vineyard – is located in the Côte-d'Or region in Burgundy. The 31 rooms and suites are spread over four historic buildings in an idyllic location with a direct view of the vineyards. Italy's Paola Navone is responsible for the design. The phased opening of the hotel also marks the opening of a COMO Shambhala Retreat, the first of its kind in France.
COMO Hotels and Resorts was founded in 1991 by Singaporean-born Christina Ong. The billionaire, known as the "Queen of Bond Street" because of her property portfolio in London's luxury area, is also a shareholder in iconic fashion brands such as Mulberry. Today, the hotel chain comprises 15 properties, including in London, Bali and Tuscany. No two COMO properties are alike, but they all share the same philosophy: luxurious, timeless design, extraordinary experiences, holistic wellness offers, food concepts finely tuned to their respective country's cuisine and warm service.
