Guam Launches Vaccination and Holiday Package

164 Taiwanese travellers were the first tourists to take advantage of the tailored trip.

Guam, a US island territory in the Pacific, announced a programme of package holidays called Air V & V (vacation and vaccination) in June, allowing eligible visitors aged twelve and over to travel to the island and get their first Covid-19 vaccine dose. Taiwan’s residents are the first customers. “This programme captures a unique demographic of travellers around the world that are tired of waiting to get vaccinated in this pandemic,” Carl Gutierrez, president of the Guam Visitors Bureau, said.

Lion Travel, one of the biggest tour operators in Taiwan, offers seven- and 22-day tours. Participants can choose between the Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccines from Guam’s private clinics. The tours start at around $1,400 for flights and hotels, excluding the cost of vaccines and coronavirus tests.
