Hilton Opens First Resort in the Maldives

With the opening of the Hilton Maldives Amingiri Resort, the brand celebrates its debut in the Maldives.

The Hilton hotel group is represented in the Maldives for the first time with its flagship brand: Hilton Maldives Amingiri Resort & Spa, which opened recently. The resort, which consists exclusively of villas,  is owned by Amingiri Holding and managed by Hilton.

Located on Amingiri Island in North Malé Atoll, the new resort is a 20-minute speedboat ride from Velana International Airport. It comprises 109 beach and overwater villas, each with a private pool and views of the turquoise lagoon. Natural light floods into the villas through floor-to-ceiling windows, with the light’s colour palette designed to reflect the warm tones of the sea and sky.

Overwater pool villas

The overwater pool villas feature stairs that lead directly into the island's lagoon. These villas each have a poolside hammock. A special feature of the hotel is the six-bedroom Amingiri Residence, which is ideal for larger groups of travellers. Located in a bay, the residence pampers guests with its own jetty and sun deck. The Amingiri Residence will open in November 2022.

The resort has six restaurants, including the seafood-restaurant Origin, the all-day dining restaurant Habitat and the rustic beach restaurant Beach Shack. To celebrate the opening of Hilton Maldives Amingiri Resort, there is a special opening offer until the end of September 2022 for stays of at least four nights, complete with a complimentary daily breakfast and a return speedboat transfer.

Fourth resort in the Maldives

The new resort is the hotel group’s fourth in the Maldives. The hotel group is already represented by the Waldorf Astoria (Ithaafushi), Conrad (Rangali Island) and SAii (Lagoon Maldives) brands on this group of islands.

In the Maldives, there has been a sustained increase in bookings over the past two years, says Alan Watts, who is responsible for the Asia-Pacific region at Hilton. »The expansion of the flagship brand here underlines our commitment to bringing our world-class brands to key locations,« says Watts.
