La Liste 2023: Three restaurants share coveted top slot

The top spot in the global La Liste restaurant rankings have been unveiled. And the number one place has gone not just to one but three restaurants: Restaurant Frantzén in Stockholm, Le Bernardin by Éric Ripert in New York and Restaurant Guy Savoy in Paris. They each have 99.5% La Liste scoring – the highest of the impressive list of 1,000 restaurants worldwide.
"To see our team's dedication recognised by La Liste is incredibly rewarding," said chef and co-owner, Eric Ripert, said in a statement. "It pushes us to keep striving for excellence everyday, even 50 years in."
Award of Honour for Michel Guérard
The "father of nouvelle cuisine" in France, Michel Guérad, received the "Prix d'Honneur" for his life's work. The patron and chef of Les Prés d'Eugénie restaurant in Eugénie-les-Bains in southwestern France has not only preserved France's culinary heritage with his culinary art but contributed to the rise of nouvelle cuisine. Many of his students such as Alain Ducasse, Daniel Boulud, Gérald Passedat, Sébastien Bras, Christopher Coutanceau, Alexandre Couillon and Hugo Roellinger were represented in Paris with a high place on La Liste.
The top UK restaurants on the list were Core by Clare Smyth in London and L'Enclume in Grange-over-Sands, both on 98.0.
