Moët & Chandon Releases Grand Vintage 2013 and Grand Vintage 2013 Rosé

The 2013 vintage represents the 75th vintage released by Champagne Moët & Chandon since its foundation in 1743.

Expressive Wines

With the release of their 2013 Grand Vintage Champagnes in both white and rosé, Moët & Chandon presented a couple of really expressive wines: the intensity of fruit is beautiful in both wines – and in both cases that lovely fruit is absolutely underscored by the bright freshness of the cool 2013 vintage. Cellar master Benoît Gouez noted that with its coolness, the 2013 vintage hailed back to a rather “classic” style of Champagne: “The acidity is really present – this makes it a real classic.” His main concern, so Gouez, was “to tell the story of 2013” with its late harvest that brought so much flavour but also preserved all the freshness inherent in the grapes. Both wines are eminently gastronomic, so have Moët’s Impérial brut as a light-footed aperitif but do pair the Grand Vintage 2013 wines with food.
