A wine treasure chest with 130 hectares of vineyards, a natural microcosm that gives rise to different terroirs which give the wine a special character with multiple expressions through the exploitation of the particular area. This is the soul of the Assuli Winery, a western Sicily reality with the ambition to establish itself as an internationally renowned Boutique Winery.

In the Carcitella vineyard, with about 65 hectares – the largest among the Assuli estates – the most suitable soil was chosen based on the selected varieties. The purely autochthonous black grape varieties grown organically, give life to wines appreciated and awarded for their superior quality, Lorlando, Lorlando Riserva and Furioso, all Sicily DOC wines.

Lorlando

Lorlando bears the same name as the brave and impassioned Paladin, the protagonist of the epic events narrated by Ludovico Ariosto, precisely because of the similar intensity it takes on in the glass. Balanced and soft, with intense aromas of ripe red fruit, it catches the eye for its compact ruby red colour with purple reflections and amazes when sipped thanks to the excellent balance and soft tannins.

It is also highly appreciated in its most elegant and complex version, the Lorlando Riserva. Aged 12 months in barrique, this wine is full-bodied and persistent, surprising the palate with hints of ripe fruit, a slight spiciness and a hint of vanilla.

Furioso

Furioso also pays homage to the epic story of Orlando Furioso and seals all the unrequited love of the paladin Orlando for the beautiful and fleeting Angelica who will make him "furious", accentuating his enveloping and passionate temperament just like the Assuli wine.

Definitely powerful and interesting, it is the result of a careful vinification of the rediscovered Perricone grape. The latter gives an intense ruby colour with purple reflections and on the nose, it offers intense aromas of ripe red fruit, graphite and violet.

Perricone is also a difficult variety to vinify and must be worked with dedication to obtain important wines. Today, Assuli's (won) gamble is once again awarded the Gambero Rosso Three Glasses, the only Perricone in purity among the 26 Sicilian companies that have obtained the highest recognition. A definitely interesting result achieved for 3 consecutive years: 2016, 2017, 2018.

Assuli Winery

Assuli is the result of a passion and a family that believes and has remained faithful to the land; it is a story destined to have many new chapters added, thanks to the passion of those who, like its Chairman Roberto Caruso, have chosen to believe in the noble and ancient art of "making wine", but in a contemporary way, with a recipe that has three main ingredients: innovation, digital and sustainability.
