New hotel for design lovers opens in Salzburg

The hotel's concept and interior design were inspired by one of Austria's most well-known landscape painters.

Josef Mayburger (1814-1908) is considered one of Salzburg's most renowned landscape painters. Now a new hotel is paying tribute to him. Around 80 metres from the Salzach river, the Mayburg Salzburg aims to offer design-savvy travellers a modern retreat with a tranquil, natural design ambience. Operated by Four Peaks Hospitality, the hotel is one of Marriott Convoy's Tribute Portfolio Hotels, and is scheduled to open as early as 1 December 2022.

Informal & regional

The lobby is the heart of the hotel, and where the culinary experience begins. The Mayburg Living Room restaurant stands for casual togetherness and regional cuisine. The Mayburg Bar lounge and bar area offers a range of coffee specialities and signature drinks, with an emphasis on natural ingredients from the surrounding area.

Guests can choose to stay in a junior suite, one of 29 deluxe superior rooms or one of 51 standard rooms, he design of which is also a nod to Josef Mayburger. The homage to his life‘s work can also be seen in the playful details, such as the butterfly collections and the many landscape paintings by Mayburger, displayed throughout the hotel.
