Sandridge Barton is already thinking about Christmas

UK

The wine producer from South Devon is offering gift vouchers and a mixed half case of its Sharpham wines.

Christmas seems to come earlier every year, with the major worry for many being whether they can buy all their presents in time for the big day. Good news, Sandridge Barton, a UK wine producer, has already prepared some gift ideas for wine lovers. The home of Sharpham wine, situated in the South Devon countryside on the edge of the River Dart, is offering gift vouchers, wines by the case, or by the bottle.

A gift voucher for guided tasting (£20) can be redeemed at Sandridge Barton’s new winery and visitor centre. One of their guides will run through the ins and outs of how the grapes are grown in the vineyards and how wine is produced. As part of the experience, guests will be guided through three wines and will also taste two kinds of cheese. Guided tastings run for 45 to 60 minutes and include a short winery tour.

Monetary gift vouchers are available for £10, £20 or £50. These can be redeemed online or in Sandridge Barton's new on-site winery shop; they are valid for one year from the date of purchase.

The case for The Sharpham Six

If you do not like the idea of giving vouchers, you might think about ‘The Sharpham Six’. No, it’s not a new Quentin Tarantino movie, but a mixed half case of Sharpham wines, featuring six bottles of their current bestsellers, including the Pinot Noir Rosé 2021.

Or you might order a bottle of Sharpham Pinot Noir 2021 (£22.00) as a present or, if you can’t wait until Christmas, for yourself. This wine has become one of Sandridge Barton’s bestsellers, but production is limited due to the challenges of growing red grapes in a cool climate, so it’s only available while stocks last.

Who wants to visit Sandridge Barton? The new winery and visitor centre is open until the end of December and offers self-guided options and in-depth guided tastings and tours. It will reopen to visitors in March 2023.
