The Falstaff wine advent calendar: Day 16

Ever wondered which wines music stars drink backstage?

Musicians are famous for outlandish catering requests, and wine is very much part of the scene. Some artists aren’t too fussy: Iggy Pop and The Stooges, were reported to be happy with 2 bottles of red wine, preferably “something we’ve heard of but still can’t pronounce”.

Pharrell Williams is more specific: on one tour his rider was said to have included 15 magnums of Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque. It’s hard to top Diana Krall though, whose 2007 rider detailed a long, eclectic list of acceptable wines, from D’Arenberg Shiraz “The Laughing Magpie” to Ridge Zinfandel, Allegrini “La Grola” and Mulderbosch Sauvignon Blanc.
