The Falstaff wine advent calendar: Day 4

What about the world’s most northerly and southerly commercial vineyards?

While we’re on record-breaking (Day 3), extreme vineyard sites, the most northerly vineyard site can be found in Horten, Norway, at a latitude of 59º45'N. Called L’Esprit d’Edvard Munch, this 0.5-hectare parcel of Pinot Noir was planted by Svein Erik Hansen in 1992. For the most southerly vineyard, head to New Zealand, where Westons Reserve Winery has vines planted in Dunedin at a latitude of 45º51’S. And yes, Pinot Noir is part of the mix here too.
