The World’s Tallest Observation Wheel to Open in Dubai

The record-breaking observation wheel is set to open next month on Dubai's Bluewaters Island.

Dubai Eye

The Ain Dubai mega-sized observation wheel on Bluewaters Island in the city of Dubai will open on October 21. Standing more than 250 metres high, the wheel is almost twice the height of the London Eye and can carry up to 1,750 passengers at a time.

Observation, social and private pods are available for 360-degree stunning views of the city, day and night. Each rotation takes about 38 minutes and passengers can choose up to two rotations to enjoy views of Dubai Marina and Bluewaters Island. Tickets are on sale starting at $35.

Special celebration services

Ain Dubai, which means Dubai Eye, is making the private cabins available for exclusive celebration packages suitable for birthdays, weddings and business events. “Ain Dubai offers first-of-its-kind experiences catering to all audiences including luxurious special event cabins; nightlife and party experiences; unique dining and culinary options; family-friendly cabins and customisable romantic experiences for special moments,” said Ain Dubai general manager Ronald Drake.

Ain Dubai will officially open to the public on October 21, coinciding with the launch of the delayed Expo 2020 Dubai. Dubai is already home to the world's largest fountain and tallest skycraper, the 828-metre-tall Burj Khalifa.
