Travel bans in Uganda because of Ebola

The East African nation imposes travel bans on two districts following an Ebola outbreak.

A total of 19 deaths have been recorded in Uganda following an outbreak of Ebola, as of noon on October 17, with around 60 people believed to have contracted Ebola so far. The government of President Yoweri Museveni has imposed a lockdown on two districts, Mubende and Kassanda in central Uganda, with entertainment facilities closed and a night-time curfew imposed – entry and exit to these two districts is currently banned.

At the end of September, a man died of Ebola, after which the rare Sudan variant of the dangerous virus was detected.
