War of Rosé: Brad Pitt Must Hand Over Documents on the Winery to Angelina Jolie

In the bitter “War of Rosé” over Château Miraval, the wine estate of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, the Hollywood actor has to accept a temporary defeat.

For several years now over the course of their divorce, Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been in a heated dispute over their joint Provençal vineyard, the French Château Miraval. It looks now that Pitt, especially, whose heart's project is the famous rosé “Miraval”, will have to accept a bitter defeat. In 2021, Jolie sold her shares, without Pitt's consent, to Tenute del Mondo, a wine company owned by the Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler, against which Pitt has been fighting legally ever since. However, a judge in Los Angeles has now ruled that Pitt must hand over any documents relating to “Miraval” to Jolie's legal team.

Loss of control for Pitt?

According to US media reports, Pitt fears that Shefler will try to "take control of 'Miraval'". The actor has always claimed to have built up the winery and brand on his own and therefore is reluctant to hand over the reins. Allegedly, there is also a contract between the ex-lovers for such a case, which stipulates that shares in the winery may only be sold with each other's consent. However, this seems to have achieved little.

Pitt is expected to challenge the latest ruling as soon as possible. So, a peaceful agreement between Jolie and Pitt is no longer in sight.
