Fine wines from world-famous producers
During the week of March 14-20, 2022, Crurated will launch an online event auctioning rare wines from world renowned European producers such as Louis Roederer Cristal, Domaine Meo-Camuzet and Domaine Dujac to support humanitarian needs of the Ukrainian people. Each purchase will be accompanied by an NFT (non-fungible token) to verify ownership history and authenticity of the bottle.
The initial value of the more than 250 bottles of wine pre-auction totals $100,000. 100% of the funds raised from the online auction will be distributed to Red Cross, Save The Children, UNHCR and UNICEF.
A powerful fundraising and story-telling vehicle
NFTs and cryptocurrencies are efficient means to aid Ukraine due to their ability to raise money fast and in an open manner.
“Our platform is perfectly suited for this initiative because we automatically assign an NFT for every bottle that is brought into our warehouse and loaded onto the platform. We are anticipating an exciting auction with generous donors pitching in to help lessen the humanitarian crisis,” said Alfonso de Gaetano, founder of Crurated.
The country also has plans to launch its own NFT project to raise money and support its people. The NFT collection will act "like a museum of the Russian-Ukrainian war," Alex Bornyakov, Ukraine's deputy minister of digital transformation, told The Guardian, "We want to tell the world in NFT format."
Interested bidders are invited to register for an account at crurated.com.
