Why look across the ocean when true gems await in Europe?
Warum immer nur im Sommer verreisen? Gerade in Europe gibt es so viele schöne Plätze, die es auch unter dem Jahr zu entdecken gilt. Und außerdem: Was gibt es schöneres, als sich hin und wieder mit einem Städtetrip am Wochenende zu belohnen? Eben. Nur wohin, ist die Frage. Paris, London und Amsterdam hat doch nun (fast) jeder schon gesehen. Wir zeigen euch europäische Städte, die nur eine Flugstunde entfernt sind, die aber speziell sind und die wir beim Thema Reisen nicht unbedingt am Radar haben.
Die Hauptstadt des Inselstaates Malta punktet bei Kultur-Interessierten mit historischen Cafés, engen Straßenschluchten und einem einzigartigen Hafen. Es gibt viele Kirchen und Museen zu erkunden und im Juli findet das jährliche Jazz-Festival statt. Zahlreiche Gelegenheiten zum Schnorcheln und anderen Outdoor-Aktivitäten gibt’s auch noch. Obwohl Inselstaaten eher dazu tendieren, überteuert zu sein, hält sich das in Valletta (noch) sehr in Grenzen.
Small but mighty. More than 100 years ago, the Austrian crown prince was assassinated in Sarajevo. Since then, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina has changed. Christians, Orthodox and Jews live here peacefully in harmony with each other. The Bosnian war (1992-1995) left the city quite shattered, but Sarajevo has recovered from the aftermath. For those interested in history, there are free guided tours of the city, during which war sites are explained in more detail.
The old town of Krakow was fortunately spared from destruction by the 2nd World War, so until today buildings from Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque are included. Culturally, you are well provided for with numerous museums and churches. Poland is also very popular for its cuisine. The national dish Pierogi, dumplings filled with vegetables, cheese or meat, is affordable and very delicious.
Barcelona has to dress warmly, because Seville is not only culturally exciting, but also much more attractive in price than the Catalan capital. "Game of Thrones" was partly filmed in Seville - no wonder, because the scenery is unique. With the cathedral, the royal palace Alcazar and the Metropol Parasol, Seville stands for tradition and innovation at the same time.
Especially for Shopping-Liebhaber ist Hamburg THE PLACE TO BE. Nach Rotterdam und Antwerpen ist Hamburg die größte Hafenstadt Europas. Dadurch sind Preise für Beauty-Produkte, Essen und Kleidung deutlich niedriger als im Rest des Landes. Mit der neu erbauten Oper „Elbphilharmonie“ und der Kunsthalle steht die Hafenstadt ganz weit oben für Architektur- und Kunstliebhaber.
