First Costa Coffee to open in Pakistan

Lahore residents to welcome world-famous brand with second store planned for 2023.

UK-based coffee chain Costa are expanding into the Pakistan market with the opening of their first store in Lahore in December.

The company chose the second most populous city in the country as the venue for its breakthrough outlet after working closely with Karachi-based UK franchisee, Gerry’s Group, on the move.

Akram Wali Muhammad, Managing Director at Gerry’s Group, said: “We are excited to bring Costa Coffee and our delightful food menu to Pakistan’s vibrant community of coffee fans.”

A second store will open in Karachi in 2023, with Costa joining Australian-American brands Gloria Jeans and McCafé among those launching in Pakistan.

Costa recently opened stores in Georgia and Morocco, with Austria scheduled to welcome Costa Coffee early next year. The company has a presence in 41 countries across the world with almost 4,000 outlets boasting the Costa name. Gerry’s Group has been a franchise partner of Costa Coffee since 2005.
