HYATT SEEKS TO EXPAND INTO THE WORLD'S MOST SOUGHT-AFTER DESTINATIONS

Among them London, Stockholm, Prague and Lisbon.

The fulminant Hyatt Hotels Corporation, as the luxury hotels from all over the world are called by their full names, is planning a significant expansion in Europe. By 2023, the hotel group expects to grow its brand portfolio by more than 30 percent. Hyatt hotels are already planned for some of the world's most desirable destinations: London, Stockholm, Reykjavik, Helsinki, Prague, Lisbon and Edinburgh.

Authentic encounters in foreign cultures

To date, Hyatt is represented in Europe with 63 hotels under nine different brands in 22 countries. The hotel decided to expand due to the increasing demand from guests for unique and special experiences that enable authentic encounters with people and points of contact with foreign cultures. "With the planned new openings, Hyatt will play a key role in shaping the future of the European hotel landscape," says Peter Norman, Senior Vice President Real Estate and Development EAME/SWA at Hyatt. "Given our strong brand recognition and the demand for the high-quality experiences Hyatt is known for, we look forward to welcoming guests and World of Hyatt members to many of the most sought-after destinations in the future. More than half of the planned Hyatt hotels will be operated under franchise agreements, so we also look forward to working with a number of new and existing owners to make these exciting new ventures a success together."

Groundbreaking in Great Britain

In the UK, which remains one of the key growth markets, the country's first Park Hyatt hotel will open in London's revamped Nine Elms district, further strengthening Hyatt's brand presence in the UK. The goal is to nearly double Hyatt's presence in the coming years and also expand in France and Spain, but new Hyatt hotels will also be built in Stockholm, Helsinki, Malta and Cyprus.

The popular DACH region

The DACH region also offers great potential for Hyatt's growth. Hyatt is expanding its portfolio there with significant locations and new brands over the next few years. In Germany, The Wellem opened as the first hotel of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand on November 10, 2020 in Düsseldorf. In the near future, Hyatt Regency and Hyatt Place Zurich Airport will also open The Circle, the first Hyatt Regency hotel and the first Hyatt Place hotel in Switzerland, welcoming guests to Zurich. The Alila La Gruyère will also open in Switzerland as the first Alila Resort in Europe.
