Stockholm Institution and Northern Newcomer Crowned Business Restaurant of the Year 2025
At Di Weekend’s annual awards gala in Stockholm, Swedish gastronomy was celebrated through a meeting of heritage and new momentum. A long-standing classic in the capital and a rising fine-dining destination in the north emerged as the evening’s principal winners.
At a gala held on Monday evening at Nationalmuseum, Di Weekend unveiled its annual restaurant awards, celebrating both tradition and renewal in Swedish gastronomy.
The title Business Restaurant of the Year 2025 went to Stockholm institution Wedholms Fisk. Founded in 1985 and marking its 40th anniversary this year under restaurateur Nils Molinder, the classic seafood restaurant has enjoyed a renewed surge of energy, not least through a series of high-profile guest chefs. Wedholms Fisk was also the highest climber on Falstaff’s latest restaurant list, rising eight points to 92.
The award for Destination of the Year was claimed by Ateljé Vita Duken in Umeå, the fine-dining outpost led by chef Mathias Dahlgren together with head chef Per Söderberg. The accolade underlines Umeå’s growing culinary pull beyond the major cities.
In addition, Pia Djupmark, CEO of Grand Hôtel, received the Business Restaurant Honorary Award, recognizing the central role the hotel’s seven restaurants play in its continued success.
Published by Dagens industri, Sweden’s leading business daily, Di Weekend’s restaurant awards have long occupied a distinctive position at the intersection of gastronomy, business, and power. The Business Restaurant of the Year prize, established in 1983, is the country’s oldest restaurant award and recognises dining rooms that function as natural meeting places for decision-makers, dealmakers, and the commercial life of Sweden.
