The Grill at The Dorchester gets a new menu and a new name

The restaurant at the iconic London hotel reopens as ´The Grill by Tom Booton´ on May 18.

It is the first time in the 92-year history of The Grill at The Dorchester that the chef´s name will be strongly visible: The Grill at The Dorchester gets a fresh start as The Grill by Tom Booton on May 18, 2023. It will offer a new menu and open daily for breakfast.

Essex-born chef Tom Booton, named as one of London’s most exciting culinary talents, has crafted the new menu featuring locally-sourced ingredients. It includes a sharing concept highlighting British produce and local London creatives, with modern twists on British home cooking classics. The more relaxed approach of the menu matches the restaurant's fun atmosphere, with playlists selected by Tom. The menu will accompany a list of cocktails and artisan English beer.

The ‘Snacks’ menu will be created at the Chef’s Counter, including Welsh lamb belly and cuttlefish skewers, followed by a selection of small plates to share. Large plates include ‘All the Chicken’, served in various ways, alongside reimagined classics such as ham, egg and chips. The pudding selection includes the signature soft serves, starting with Difference Coffee with cream and hazelnuts, a Blue Jamaican mountain coffee shot, and a baked apple tart with cider and Cornish Yarg.

The options for breakfast include truffled egg & soldiers, The Grill’s take on a full English breakfast, Arnold Bennett omelette, and Tom’s bacon, cheesy sauce & fried egg baked pastry. Alongside this, Tom will create his own Sunday Lunch offering to be enjoyed.

Mattia Marcelli has recently been appointed as general manager of The Grill by Tom Booton. Previously sous chef of The Grill, Adam Nevin takes a step up to head chef overseeing the young brigade of chefs within the kitchen, with Leonardo Barlondi in charge of the restaurant’s wine curation as head sommelier. His career at The Dorchester started in 2017 within Alain Ducasse, where he was promoted twice before becoming general manager of The Dorchester Rooftop in the summer of 2022.
