The World's Most Valuable Beer Brands in 2022

Sales of Corona have held up despite the beer's unfortunate association with the coronavirus, cementing its top position as the world’s most valuable beer brand in 2022.

According to a new report from the brand valuation consultancy, Brand Finance, the Mexican beer brand was ranked as the most valuable beer brand in the world with brand value up to 21% to $7.0 billion. The second-ranked Heineken narrowed the lead with 23% brand value growth this year, valuing it at $6.9 billion. Rather than ranking companies by overall revenue, Brand Finance evaluated the net economic benefit that a brand owner would achieve by licensing the brand in the open market.

The report also states that during the pandemic, the Corona brand faced some challenges, particularly in the United States because of the suddenly awkward name while the success of Heineken was attributed to its sustainability commitments. The brewer aims have carbon neutral  production by 2030 and for its full value chain by 2040. Meanwhile, Desperados was the fastest-growing beer brand (brand value up 57% to $564 million), with very strong growth in Europe.

Top 10 most valuable beer brands in 2022:

“Over the course of the pandemic, alcoholic brands have been faced with difficult conditions including fluctuating demand due to national lockdowns across the world. The reopening of the economy has driven major growth in the sector with beer brands growing by 7% year-on-year,” said Alex Haigh, Managing Director of Brand Finance.
