After years of searching, Carlo Ferrini found a small vineyard in the Brunello area in Sant'Angelo in Colle in 2001. Today Ferrini owns six hectares of vines near the Abbey of Sant'Antimo, where only selected Sangiovese clones are planted.
Much further south, on the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily, are the other vineyards of the Giodo winery. Here, the grapes for Alberelli di Giodo ripen on old vines of the Nerello Mascalese variety that are true to their roots. Both areas provide evidence of the skill and passion of the winemaker, who is supported by his daughter Bianca.
