Patrick Bayer shares the same passion with his father Heribert Bayer, creating outstanding wines that uncompromisingly embody the variety, provenance and vintage, but also their personal signature. As one of the few négociants in Austria, Patrick Bayer has been following his father Heribert's path for more than 15 years, producing his wines where he considers the expressiveness and typicity of the grape varieties to be exemplary.

In addition to the great ageing potential of their wines, the house is especially known for its large range of available vintages and its matured red wines. This is because Heribert and Patrick Bayer give their wines a particularly great deal of time and care. Thanks to this philosophy, it is now possible to choose from up to ten different vintages for their multiple award-winning wines in the In Signo series. The wines are named for the family's zodiac signs - Leo, Sagittarius, Aquarius and Taurus - and are vivid, multi-layered, fruit-concentrated wines with velvety integrated tannins.

Among the flagships of the house are the cuvée "In Signo Leonis" which has been regularly listed since 1997, as well as the single-varietal textbook Blaufränkisch "In Signo Sagittarii", whose grapes come from over 70-year-old vineyards from the top Hochberg site in Neckenmarkt. For some years now the white wine rarity "Albatros" has also been among the best Chardonnays of the country, making the hearts of Burgundy fans beat faster.

Since March 2020, the winery has also been inviting guests to online tastings via Facebook and Instagram. Wine lovers from all over the world can have the wines sent to them in advance and then taste them live from home. Many guests, among them wine-making colleagues, sommeliers and also musicians, are taking part. Private and virtual wine tastings for groups and teams are also organized on an ongoing basis.
