Of course not but, nevertheless, we are awarding the fourth star to the Hessische Staatsweingüter this year. Oenologist Kathrin Puff has sharpened the profile of the single-site vineyard wines with such commitment that they have now sit at the top of the region. Managing director Dieter Greiner has also proven himself to be a worthy contemporary interpreter of the Cistercian tradition: He keeps an eye on the business, but never loses sight of the bigger picture.
