Falstaff Wine Guide Germany 2022

There's an awful lot of wood - 238 hectares. With such dimensions, one can only assume that every litre has what it takes to score 90 points? Of course not but, nevertheless, we are awarding the fourth star to the Hessische Staatsweingüter this year. Oenologist Kathrin Puff has sharpened the profile of the single-site vineyard wines with such commitment that they have now sit at the top of the region. Managing director Dieter Greiner has also proven himself to be a worthy contemporary interpreter of the Cistercian tradition: He keeps an eye on the business, but never loses sight of the bigger picture.
