Falstaff Wineguide Switzerland 2023/24

Urs Hauser, who worked as an electrical engineer before his winemaking career, turned his hobby into a profession in 2010. Most of his vines thrive above Contone on the slopes of Monte Ceneri, which divides Ticino into Sopraceneri and Sottoceneri. Steadily and slowly, he increased the vineyard area to today's 4.5 hectares, three-quarters of which are planted with the Merlot variety, ubiquitous in Ticino. Two-thirds of them are located in old steep slopes from which Hauser brings out the best with a lot of passion and manual work.
