The Prickler red wine estate is located in Lutzmannsburg, the oldest documented winegrowing community in Burgenland, and sees itself as the guardian of the Lutzmannsburg terroir. Wine is the Prickler family's great passion. Every vine is lovingly cared for, quality in the vineyard and in the cellar work is a top priority and attention is paid to every detail.
A mild Pannonian climate with the most hours of sunshine in Burgenland pampers the vineyards on the Lutzmannsburg high plateau, where a special microclimate prevails away from through-roads. This impressive soil massif of loam, clay marl, tar and quartz sand is 50 metres higher than the plain or the village itself. The heavy soils offer optimal conditions for high quality grapes with lots of fruit and tannin. An ideal location for great wines with their own style and elegance.
Elfi and Herbert Prickler started producing wine practically out of nowhere. Today, their winery is considered a beacon in the Blaufränkisch stronghold of Lutzmannsburg. Some of the vineyards here are particularly well tended. They are the work of Elfi Prickler, who has dedicated herself entirely to caring for the vines. "A vine must feel good and have a healthy environment," which is her recipe for the high quality of the grapes.
The meticulous work in the vineyards benefits son Christian, who has been responsible for vinification for several years. Together with Herbert Prickler's many years of experience, he shapes the signature of the Prickler wines. At tastings and in the office, daughter-in-law Christina lovingly looks after her guests and customers.
The many awards won by the wines are testimony to the family's quality-oriented work. Healthy grapes, limited yields, gentle and modern processing result in fruity and full-bodied red wines of high quality and exceptional drinking pleasure!.
