Falstaff Wineguide Germany 2021

Falstaff Wineguide Germany 2021

“Down to earth, no-frills, straight up.” This is how Weingut Hans Bausch describes itself. What we can add: when you read Bausch on the label, there is 100% Bausch in the bottle. This is honest winemaking craft, without big experimentation or avant-gardist ambitions. Among the dry wines, it is the well balanced Grosses Gewächs from the Engelmannsberg site that is very convincing. Among the residually sweet wines, the substantial Spätlese from the Wisselbrunnen site shows everything that the 2019 vintage made possible. We also must note that within a Rheingau context, the prices are incredibly reasonable.
