Falstaff Wineguide Germany 2021

Falstaff Wineguide Germany 2021

The name of the estate may sound martial, but there is no need to fear the Rieslings or Scheureben which grow on the Heilger Blutberg – a monopole site of a mere three hectares. The times when monks were executed here are long gone. What happens today is much more pleasant: Brothers Christian and Martin Hannemann, the fourth generation, took their family estate over in 2018 – and evidently they are going full throttle. They manage to convert the conditions of the black volcanic soils into mineral-driven, dry and classically fruity Kabinett wines.
