Falstaff Wineguide Germany 2021

Falstaff Wineguide Germany 2021

Schloss Saarstein sits high above the Saar river, surrounded by its vineyards. Its south-southwestern aspect guarantees perfect solar radiation. The grey slate warms easily and retains the heat of the day. It is thus an ideal soil for Riesling that makes up more than 90% of the estate’s plantings. Christian Ebert, who is the second generation to run the estate, presented a convincing wine range of elegant, fine-boned and minerally-savoury Rieslings – along with nobly sweet rarities and a well-balanced “Grosses Gewächs”. Classically good!
