The Sax family has been an integral part in Austrian winemaking history since 1660. Under the term "vinification", the twin brothers Sax understand the passion to press varietal, vintage and regionally typical wines that reflect the climate and soil of Kamptal. A high degree of sunshine hours and cool nights ensure wines of high quality and fruit intensity. The estates best vineyards are Steinhaus, Steinmassl, Schenkenbichl, Spiegel and Panzaun, which are also among the most renowned vineyards of Kamptal.
The aim is to take yield-regulating measures as early as the pruning stage, which are adapted to the different varieties. The main focus is traditionally on Grüner Veltliner and Riesling. Due to the different taste ideals, customers are now offered five varieties of Grüner Veltliner: From the light Grüner Veltliner "Luftikus" to the Grüner Veltliner "Panzaun", the Sax twins offer the right taste for every palate. With their own line, the youngest generation of vintners have already won many a prize in international competitions. The aim of the twins is to press wines from the ripest grapes of the Pinot line, which has caused an internationally sensation due to their charm. These wines are very balanced and elegant, above all due to their adequate maturation in small wooden barrels, which offer gentle nutty and wonderfully creamy aromas.
