Airbahn's launch would be the fourth from a new airline in the US this year, after Avelo Airlines, Breeze Airways, and Aha!, ExpressJet's new budget venture, according to Business Insider.
Airbahn has been advertising for staff for months and received its first aircraft, an Airbus A320-200, on November 24, according to a Facebook post from the California-based company.
The company has applied for permission to operate flights along the west coast of the US to cities in northern California, Nevada, and western Canada from its hub at either John Wayne Airport in Orange County or Long Beach Airport, Business Insider said.

Airbahn is led by Tariq Chaudhary, who is also the CEO and chairman of Pakistani airline, Airblue, which Planespotters data shows has leased the Airbus aircraft to Airbahn.
US and international airlines are nervously watching the impact that the new Omicron variant and travel restrictions will have on the travel industry, which is attempting to rebound from the Covid-19 pandemic.
