The First Issue of Falstaff International Is Out
The Inaugural Cover of Falstaff International
We are excited to report that the very first issue of Falstaff International Magazine has been published!
Headquartered in Vienna, Falstaff International is edited in London and published globally. Its inaugural digital issue was published in July 2021 and its first print edition will appear in October 2021. From then onwards it will appear quarterly with a global print circulation of 100,000.
Falstaff International is the first foray into English language publishing by Falstaff Publishing. Founded in 1980 as a wine magazine in Austria, Falstaff now is an established media platform in German-speaking Europe with leading publications and websites in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and a German print ciculation of 142,000. In all three countries Falstaff publishes authoritative annual wine guides reflecting and representing these countries’ wine industries. The German and Austrian guides also appear in English.
Publisher Wolfgang M. Rosam decided to take shake up the international print scene. The first print issue of Falstaff Interntional magazine will appear in October 2021 and will not only be distibuted in 41 countries but also to industry insiders: the best restaurants, wine shops and hotels. Of course the magazine will also be available digitally via all the usual channels.
Anne Krebiehl MW edits the publication from London and joins the longstanding editors Peter Moser (Austria), Dr Ulrich Sautter (Germany), Othmar Kiem (Italy), Dominik Vombach and Benjamin Herzog (both Switzerland) of the Austrian, German and Swiss editions – all recognised and experienced tasters in their respective fields.

"Falstaff International is my biggest media project for a well-travelled, hedonistic, educated and affluent readership. Good food and outstanding wines connect people on every continent. The appetite for the good life is greater than ever after months of the pandemic. Now is exactly the right moment to think outside the box with Falstaff International and give the world a new platform for wine, food and travel."
Publisher Wolfgang Rosam
The New Publication
"Falstaff International is dedicated to the joyful trinity of wine, food and travel. This focus is reflected in engaging features, interviews and profiles, in-depth reports and essays. Authentic and relevant stories from international experts make Falstaff International a leading global publication."

Wine Connects People and Continents
"Falstaff wine reviews and scores are a special service for our readers. Our database has particular depth in the wines of Austria, Germany, Italy, Bordeaux and Switzerland, but we are working on making Falstaff International the definitive platform for wine across all continents."
Managing Director Jana Bechert
The First Digital Edition
Our jam-packed first issue boasts 198 colourful pages, starting with a report on Tuscany – the home of classics such as Tignanello, Sassicaia, Flaccianello, Cepparello or Pergole Torte – followed by Bordeaux, Ribera del Duero and California. Guest columnists include Angelo Gaja, the star winemaker of the eponymous winery in Piedmont, and top sommelier Aldo Sohm (Aldo Sohm Wine Bar and Le Bernardin) in New York City.
Then there are features on celebrity wines, beef breeds, Single Malt Whisky, sumptuously photographed seasonal seafood and barbecue recipes and travel features on the French Riviera and the Kenyan Masai Mara. The Italian editors Othmar Kiem and Simon Staffler round it all out with their tasting notes of Prosecco and Supertuscans.
