The Margarita, one of Mexico's most famous exports, is a cocktail consisting of tequila, orange liqueur and lime juice, often served with salt on the rim of the glass. Belonging to the “sour cocktail family” Margarita is the Spanish word for “daisy”. More than one person claims to have invented the Margarita, including Carlos "Danny" Herrera at his Tijuana restaurant, Rancho La Gloria, around 1938.
