FIVE EXCURSIONS YOU CAN CURRENTLY TAKE WITH YOUR CHILDREN IN AUSTRIA

Staying active despite the pandemic.

It's not exactly easy to find a balanced leisure activity at the moment. Especially with children who are used to letting off steam and socializing with others. But what to do when cabin fever threatens at home? Now that the current measures relating to the pandemic have been relaxed, there are once again some exciting activities that you can do with your little ones.

A trip to the zoo

Zoos across the country have reopened. This probably pleases the animals as much as the people. Take a day and stroll leisurely with your children through Austria's zoos. The extensive Schönbrunn Zoo is ideal for a day trip, for example. The children get plenty of exercise and also discover the exciting animal world. An absolute highlight!

A compass hike through the forest

If you enjoy being out in the fresh air and want to encourage your children to do so, the best thing to do is to go on a fun compass hike through the forest. The children can head for a destination where a small treasure is hidden. With the help of a treasure map and a compass, the little ones then set off on an adventurous hike and have to find the hiding place. The forest air has a calming effect and provides a good balance.

An exciting visit to the museum

Even in bad weather, there is currently a lot to discover - for young and old! Museums are a great way to add a little variety to everyday life and see something other than your own nursery. A visit to a museum - of which there are countless in Austria - provides excitement, fun and educational moments. In the Museum of Natural History in Vienna for example, children can follow in the footsteps of the dinosaurs and marvel at the impressive skeletons up close.

Enjoy an active time out in motor parks

Since many people spend most of their time at home anyway, it can't hurt to take a change of scenery for a change. Like in Motor skills parksof which there are several all over Austria. Children can train their dexterity, agility and coordination. The best thing about it: adults can join in and treat themselves to an active break too.

A fun sleigh ride

The last weeks of winter are perfect for enjoying the snow. Numerous ski resorts offer toboggan runs for the whole family. This is the perfect way to combine action, fresh air, exercise and lots of fun and distraction for children. If you don't have your own sledge, you can also borrow the equipment on site.
