What David Moore with his restaurant in Fitzrovia is - to put it mildly - remarkable. The Irishman opened his restaurant in 1991 and was soon awarded a Michelin star by Head Richard Neat. For some time now Asimakis Chaniotis behind the stove. He creates classic French cuisine with references to his native Greece. The menu features vegan and omnivorous delicacies, served à la carte or as a 4-, 6-, 8- and 10-course menu. Open for lunch and dinner.

Roasted fennel with orange and maple syrup glaze and smoked dressing and buckwheat, celeriac dauphinois or rose of butternut squash - dishes like these pretty much leave nothing to be desired. all foodies go into raptures. You don't even have to be vegan. This is also the view of the Michelin Guide, which Gauthier eine Empfehlung wert ist. Das Menü ist seit 2021 komplett vegan, es fällt in die Kategorie “zeitgenössisch französisch”. Chef Alexis Gauthier lernte von den Besten der Besten, etwa Alain Ducasse. Während seiner Zeit als Head Chef im Roussilon Pimlico he cooked up a star.

It took Jason Atherton's restaurant just six months to earn its Michelin star. But that was just the beginning. Numerous other awards followed. And rightly so! The setting is cozy and the ingredients for the menus are carefully selected. They come from farmers and producers from all over the country. The menu is not purely plant-based per se. But vegans in London should take a look anyway, as there are special vegan and vegetarian tasting menus. They include delicacies such as baked Roskoff onion, citrus parfait or celeriac in walnut oil.

Mallow

Mallow

The Mallow at Borough Market is more unconventional and much cozier. The team serves a wonderful mix of classic European cuisine - think brunch with porridge, pancakes and French toast - and international influences in its pretty restaurant (wooden floor, rust-red walls, pendant lights). The dishes are creative, colorful and not only beautiful to look at - they also taste absolutely fantastic. The ingredients also ensure this. They come from nearby surroundings and are cooked using a zero-waste approach. There's a second branch at Canary Wharf.

The Vurger Co.

This hotspot for vegans in London differs from those mentioned above because it offers substitute products such as vegan cheese or Beyond Meat Patties. The result is probably the most delicious vegan burgers in the entire city. This is no coincidence, as the recipe is based on intensive research of the two owners Rachel Hugh and Neil Potts. They had their first restaurant financed via crowdfunding, and there are now Vurger branches not only in Shoreditch, sondern auch in Manchester und Brighton. Auf dem Menü finden sich Klassiker wie “Ranch Chicken”, “Double SmashCheeze Melt”, Bowls und Wraps, Shakes und Pommes.
