Global issues fail to dampen thirst for Champagne, with sales up in 2022

Worldwide, 326 million bottles of champagne were sold last year, a significant increase from 2021.

Weak economic growth, inflation, wars and climate crisis cannot affect the popularity of Champagne, which remains the number one luxury drink: a rise of 1.6 per cent to 326 million bottles sold worldwide. This was announced by Comité Champagne, an umbrella group representing the winegrowers and houses of the region, with a turnover for sales in excess of €6 billion worldwide.
