Munich Oktoberfest: Beer will be more expensive

A beer at the Wiesn is set to cost around 15 per cent more than in 2019, and non-alcoholic drinks will also be more expensive.

The price increases for food, fuel and other goods have been a bitter pill for consumers. But now, a specific price hike has been announced that makes inflation even harder to swallow: Beer at Munich’s Oktoberfest – the first since the onset of the Covid crisis – will be around 15 per cent pricier. According to a press release from the City of Munich, the beverage prices calculated by the catering businesses were recently submitted to the Department of Labour and Economic Affairs. This document revealed that a Maß Festbier will cost between 12.60 and 13.80 euros – on average, 15.8 per cent more than in 2019 when the last Wiesn took place (prices then: 10.80 to 11.80 euros).
