Today's Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc can look back on a particularly long history. It was opened as early as 1863 under the name “Villa Soleil” als Privatresidenz eröffnet. Unter dem Gründer der Tageszeitung “Le Figaro” fertiggestellt, war sie Zufluchtsort und Refugium für Journalisten und Schriftsteller. 1870 erfolgte dann die Conversion into a hotel. Around the turn of the century, more and more members of high society came to stay. Ernest Hemingway, Wallis Simpson and Pablo Picasso were just a few of them. Since 2012, the sophisticated hotelto whom both Johannes Mario Simmel and F. Scott Fitzgerald created literary monuments, a member of the noble Oetker Collection.
