A name that obliges: Courchevel in the French Alps is also called the Saint-Tropez of winter sports. The town, which consists of three parts named after the altitude: Courchevel 550, Courchevel 1650 and Courchevel 1850, was created in 1850 on the drawing board, and instead of focusing on mass, the town opted for quality in tourism - a decision that has definitely proven its worth.
