The red wine Amarone Classico della Valpolicella, vintage 1977 from the winery Bertani has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem & Simon Staffler with 94 Falstaff points.
Bright garnet red with an orange rim. Clearly defined nose with notes of blood orange, rose hip, fresh red cherry, fine, slightly iodized components add variety. Some drying tannins on the palate, notes of resin and wooden barrels, lots of tar, somewhat rough but also salty and long.
