Tasting Notes
A nose of fragrance and finesse, with very measured red fruit. It is still too young to show appropriately on the palate: acutely sharp, with merciless tannins, unripe strawberry, and just a hint of earth and smoke, almost a nod to nominative determinism. In a world of vinous sprinters, Grande Reserve has always been a marathon runner, and we’re just a short while after the starting gun. For those inclined to go the distance, this has historically been one of the best price-quality ratios of the Greek vineyard. The 2016 vintage proves no exception. (Drink 2028-2036, where it’ll be 92-94 pts.)
