It has a deep dark ruby colour, with an opaque core, purple reflections, and a delicate bright rim. There are aromas of ripe plum, with discreet notes of fig and blueberry, subtle nuances of fine oak, and a hint of caramel. On the palate it is complex, juicy, with a dark berry confit flavour, vivid well-integrated tannins, a chocolaty finish, and good length, and it is a powerful and easily accessible food wine.
