Dining and traveling like in "Bridgerton": These are the top hotels worldwide

Not only are we in the mood for a rewatch of the first two seasons, but we also present the world's most sumptuous hotels for a vacation with a first-class culinary experience – just like the "Bridgertons".

The Netflix series "Bridgerton" goes into the next round: the third season starts on May 16. The story has not only captivated viewers all over the world, but has also triggered a wave of inspiration, especially in the hotel industry. From sumptuous ballrooms to opulent rooms, the hotels that recreate the world of "Bridgerton" or even served as filming locations offer a unique experience that transports guests to the glamorous world of the 19th century. However, in addition to the aesthetic appeal, many of these hotels also focus on the culinary experience.

Villa d'Este on Lake Como

Travel back in time and feel like a member of the 19th century aristocracy? This is possible at the exquisite "Villa d'Este" on picturesque Lake Como. Since 1873, this historic jewel has been welcoming the haute époque and discerning travelers seeking exclusive seclusion and the charm of the Belle Époque. A particular highlight is the Mosaic House, hidden in the iconic mosaic garden and its nymphaeum. Accessible via a hidden inner courtyard, it is an insider tip and offers a spectacular view of the old fortifications surrounding the park.

Platano Restaurant combines Mediterranean and Japanese cuisine in a refreshing setting, capturing global influences with authentic flavors. The Canova Bar, on the other hand, has been known since 1873 as the most glamorous place to enjoy a cocktail on Lake Como. The opulent interior makes the bar an exclusive place to watch and be seen at any time of day.

Hotel Café Royal in London

Where better to feel like you're in "Bridgerton" than in the city where it's set: London. The luxury hotel "Hotel Café Royal" is not just a reminiscence of London's glamorous history, however; even today, parties can still be celebrated in the historic part of the hotel. The highlight is the listed "Pompadour" ballroom with its mirrored panels, golden details, richly decorated ceiling and view of Regent Street, as well as the historic "The Grill Room", where classic London tea time is still celebrated today.

Oscar Wilde chose the two Michelin-starred Café Royal – and its wide selection of wines – for his salon, while Winston Churchill preferred steaks, Stilton and champagne. The Culinary spectrum is definitely not neglected here: In the Barbounia you will find Mediterranean delicacies with an all-day menu and a extraordinary outlook. The Michelin-starred chef Chef Albert Adrià celebrated as the world's best patissier, has opened his first restaurant outside his native Spain in the hotel and offers a parade of sweet treats and champagne.

Son Bunyola on Mallorca

The 16th century manor house has been lovingly converted into a luxury retreat with 27 unique rooms and suites, all offering Mallorcan charm and breathtaking views. During the restoration, the historical heritage of the building was respected and all original elements such as the staircase and the altar of the old chapel were carefully preserved.

With a focus on the "farm to table" philosophy, much of the produce served at the hotel is grown in the estate's gardens and orchards. All are paired with various wines hand-picked by their own sommelier. The menu at "Sa Terrassa" highlights the fresh and authentic flavors of Mallorca and weaves a mosaic of Mediterranean culture and cuisine. The "Sa Tafona" will open in June 2024 and is located in the historic oil press. A glance at the menu of the new restaurant already reveals an exciting combination of Spanish tapas and international street food.

Relais & Châteaux The Bath Priory in the South West of England

The house, which dates back to 1835, transports guests back to days long past and creates a perfect bridge to the present thanks to the stylish contemporary furnishings in the rooms. Visitors who have strolled through the award-winning garden and enjoyed some peace and quiet in "The Garden Spa by L'Occitane" will recharge their batteries for a day out. And this is particularly worthwhile in Bath for all fans of the Bridgerton series, as the original outdoor filming location for the Featherinton family estate is located at No. 1 Royal Crescent.

In the gourmet restaurant "The Priory", the view of the hotel's blossoming gardens is a gentle introduction to the expressive cuisine of chef Jauca Catalin. For a relaxed atmosphere and uncomplicated culinary delights, "The Pantry" invites you to a culinary experience.

Weissenhaus
Private Nature Luxury Resort on the Baltic Sea

The "Weissenhaus Private Nature Luxury Resort" has been a place of peace and relaxation for over 400 years. The castle estate is still considered a top-class retreat today. Here, guests can enjoy exploring historic buildings on 75 hectares of land on long walks through the English-style park. A special highlight for history buffs is the estate prison, which is still well preserved on "Weissenhaus".

One of the most important assets alongside the vast natural idyll and the luxurious historic buildings is the culinary offering in the resort's restaurants. Whether it's a menu in the 2-star Michelin restaurant "Courtier", taste sensations right on the beach in the boathouse or Asian flavors in the "Asiabar" – there's something for everyone here.
