Vinarija Vinčić

Falstaff Online Österreich 2023 - Weingüter - Osteuropa

The Vincic family has been growing and producing wine for several decades, but it was only in 2020 that they founded their own winery in the beautiful landscape of the Frusca Gora region in the Pannonian Basin. Situated in the village of Sid, west of Novi Sad, this small winery has a lot going for it, as it is actually a boutique winery that was founded with the aim of bringing only the very best quality to the bottle. It is part of the philosophy to only produce wine in excellent years, so logically there cannot and will not be an unbroken chain of vintages. Some of the parcels used for the wines were planted by grandfather Gavrilo VIncic in 1953, with others following in the 79s and 80s of the last century. Both in the vineyard and in the cellar, a complete team takes care of the quality, supported by oenology professor Marko Malicanin. At the heart of the small and strictly limited production are the wines of the Grasac grape variety, known as Riesling Italico. The 2020 vintage was awarded the title "Best Wines of the Show" at the renowned Decanter World Wine Awards. Furthermore, tastings prove that these wines can have an astonishing and downright astounding ageing potential if the yield is reduced accordingly and careful work is carried out in the cellar. With wines like these, Vinarija Vincic has long since earned an excellent reputation and left behind the nimbus of an insider tip.
