It's one of the most spectacular and prestigious competitions in the world: the Hahnenkamm ski race in Kitzbühel, Austria. Year after year, top athletes from the international ski circuit gather in the Tyrolean als, with also numerous celebrities in attendence to cheer them on. First held in 1931, the Hahnenkamm race is best known for the downhill event on the Streif: When racers approach the finish line jump at over 140 km/h, up to 50,000 spectators hold their breath. Estimates suggest that a total of 30 million people watch the event on television. A much more exclusive crowd gathers each year for the legendary lobster party at the Hotel Kitzhof Mountain Design Resort. After all, only 300 tickets are available.
